MY MOMMA'S GRANDMA; JOSEPHINE GREEN

SOMETIMES YOU JUST SIT AND THINK ABOUT PEOPLE WHO HAVE IMPACTED YOUR LIFE, AND MAYBE YOU DIDN'T PAY ATTENTION TO THEM AT THE TIME, BECAUSE YOU WERE YOUNG AND FULL OF YOURSELF.
TONIGHT, I AM THINKING ABOUT MY GREAT GRANDMA; WHO WE CALLED "MAMMIE" OR "AUNT PHINE".
SHE WAS A LITTLE INDIAN WOMAN WHO DRESSED SORTA LIKE GRANNY CLAMPETT, WITH THE LONG SKIRTS AND HIGH TOP BOOTS. SHE COULD FOLD HER FEET UP AND SIT ON THEM AND SHE TIED STRING IN HER HAIR TO KEEP HER BRAIDS.

WHAT IS A "BOOT "Y'ALL?

I WONDER IF SOMEONE COULD HELP ME KNOW WHY MY MOTHER VIRGINIA, [DAUGHTER OF JENNIE VIRGINIA GREEN], WOULD GET MAD AT MY FATHER, [CHARLES EARL HARMON], AND CALL HIM A "BOOT".
WHEN I WENT TO SCHOOL IN AMITYVILLE LONG ISLAND, THE DAY AFTER ST. PATRICKS DAY WAS CALLED ST. BOOTY'S DAY AND WE ALL WORE RED/GREEN.
DOES ANYBODY KNOW THE ANSWER TO THIS?
