The Lincoln Highway and Kings Highway are well known names in Chester and Lancaster County. What is not as well known is the part our Minqua Ancestor, Thomas Green played in the building of this road. It was after all, originally the Minqua Path leading from Philadelphia to Columbia. So the Settlers used the old Indian Path to create the Highways into the interior. I was told by both my grandmother, mother and uncle that my great great grandmother was from the Minqua tribe. I am trying to find out if that is true. This is what I know. Her name was Mary Dershen born December 1862 in Pennsylvania. She later married a John A Young born September 1859 also from Pennsylvania. They also were married in Pennsylvania. Thank you! Yes, I am a new member and hope to be able to connect with fellow Nocho relatives. My maternal Grandfather's Great-Grandfather was Hiram Purvis Nocho, the last born 7th child/son of John & Mary Nocho/Noke(s)/Noka.
